Greater Manchester Life-readiness Survey 2018

Closed 19 Dec 2018

Opened 9 Nov 2018

Overview

Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (the 10 councils that make up Greater Manchester) want to ensure that all young people have the opportunity to reach their potential, and grow up inspired to exceed expectations - and we're working together to ensure that our young people get the support they need to develop skills and be ready for life after school and college.

Why We Are Consulting

One of the things the Mayor has said, is that we want to find out how we can improve things to help young people have hope and feel optimistic about their future. A key part of being able to change things is first of all to understand how young people feel now, and how confident they are that they are getting the skills they need to succeed when they finish school or college. We think this survey is a good way to do this, as we'll be able to see if things are heading in the right direction.

What Happens Next

We will use the information you give us to keep track of how young people are feeling and whether our work with young people is making a difference. We will ask these questions twice a year, so over time we can see if things are getting better or worse.

We will provide schools and colleges a summary of their results (they won't be able to see individual responses) so they can see how they are doing compared to others.
