Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service FireStoppers

Opens 28 Jul 2025

Closes 1 Sep 2025

Overview

In 2024, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) proudly became an active member of FireStoppers. It gives people an anonymous (please see web link below for full details on how we adhere to anonymity) way to report what they know about deliberate firesetting.

FireStoppers is managed by the independent charity CrimeStoppers, who remove all details that could be used to identify the person who has contacted them before passing the report to us for investigation.

GMFRS have been proactively raising residents’ awareness about FireStoppers in a variety of ways, including leaflets and posters, social media, paid advertising and branding on GMFRS fire engines.

By participating in this survey, you will provide valuable information about how best GMFRS can promote FireStoppers. This feedback will then be used to further strengthen our future awareness campaigns, ensuring FireStoppers is being used to its full potential and that residents understand what it is and how it can support Greater Manchester communities to stay safe.

Reporting small outdoor fires is important as they can be dangerous and place additional stress on limited resources that may affect the response to more serious incidents.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this short survey.
