Overview

As part of the Deputy Mayor’s role, she is committed to listening to residents' views on policing, crime and criminal justice. This is to ensure that services meet the needs of everyone in our diverse city region.

With that in mind, the Deputy Mayor has commissioned a number of interviews to be conducted with victims of crime. The purpose of these interviews is to understand whether the service received by victims across Greater Manchester is meeting the needs and rights which all victims should expect to receive. This work aims to understand what is working well across these services, and where the process could be improved and will help the Deputy Mayor establish a picture of how well victims of crime are supported in Greater Manchester.

If you would like to take part in these interviews, please complete this short survey which will help us understand a bit more about you and your circumstances. The questions will relate to a crime that you have experienced which was reported to Greater Manchester Police, and your experiences of going through the trial process.

The research is being conducted by DJS Research Ltd, who are an independent research agency working with GMCA. DJS Research Ltd is conducting this research independently from Greater Manchester Police and any information received through this survey or the interview will not be recorded against your name and is purely for research purposes. You also have the right to withdraw your consent to participate in these interviews at any time in the process and all the information you provide will be anonymised.

Following the completion of this survey, DJS Research Ltd will arrange a 45-minute one-on-one depth phone interview for you to hear about your experiences of the criminal justice process, both pre and post-trial, including how you were communicated with and kept informed throughout, whether this was effective, as well as feedback on general information sharing by the agencies associated with the criminal justice system.

This survey is being conducted under the UK's Market Research Society (MRS) code of conduct.
