Hindley Travel Hub Consultation

Overview

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is developing plans for a new travel hub in Hindley.

We’re planning improvements to make it safer and more convenient for people travelling to and from Hindley station. The plans include a larger park and ride, new cycle parking, electric vehicle charging points, improved access, and better lighting and CCTV.

The best projects are shaped by the people who use them, so we want to hear your views. Your feedback will help us understand what matters most to the local community as we develop the plans.

The consultation closes at midnight on Sunday 11 October.

Why your views matter

In summer 2025 we asked people to share their views on initial proposals for Hindley travel hub at an engagement event held locally at St Peter's Pavilion. Feedback shared at the event has informed the revised proposals in this consultation.

We are now asking for your thoughts to help finalise the plans.

For further information on how we will use the information you submit, please read our Privacy Policy and our Surveys and Consultations Privacy Notice

Once the detailed proposals have been developed, a planning application for the travel hub will be submitted to Wigan Council. At this stage, plans will be listed on Wigan Council's website for comment.

If approved, we’ll share further updates on delivery timeframes and next steps.
