Improving Journeys - Manchester

Closes 20 Oct 2024

Opened 23 Sep 2024

Overview

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is working with Manchester City Council (MCC) to improve journeys for people around Manchester, including to and from the city centre, with a focus on catching the bus, walking, wheeling and cycling.

We want to make journeys better and easier by making them more reliable, safer and more sustainable and to do this we need to make changes and improvements to streets in Manchester.

Through funding from the Government’s City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) we are looking at a range of options to do this, including:

  • Making bus stops better, safer and more accessible
  • Making it easier to walk, wheel or cycle to a bus stop or get from a bus to a train or tram stop with better pedestrian and cyclist crossings and footpaths
  • Introducing a range of measures to help shorten bus journey times and make services more reliable

We are at an early stage of this process and want you to tell us about your experiences on the transport network, where we should invest and what would make your journeys better, to help us make the right improvements.

Making these improvements is a vital part of the Bee Network. The Bee Network is Greater Manchester’s joined-up transport network, helping us to make journeys more reliable, safer and more sustainable.

Why your views matter

We will use your feedback to inform plans for improvements and there will be more opportunities in the future to provide feedback on our plans as the proposals are developed.

When we have developed plans, we will share them with the public and stakeholders so you can have your say on our proposals.
