Mobility Scooter Policy

Overview

Transport for Greater Manchester is committed to an accessible Bee Network that everyone feels they can use, as and when they need it. We want to explore how we can make the Bee Network more accessible for mobility scooter users with a safe and convenient mobility scooter policy for users and Bee Network operators.

Currently, mobility scooter users are required to apply for individual permits for their vehicle for Bee Network Buses and Metrolink. Both require users to complete a training session.

We would appreciate you sharing your views and experiences on using a mobility scooter on the Bee Network, applying for a permit, and undergoing training and will use this information to inform our review and shape our policies.
