Transport and the Night Time Economy

Overview

Sacha Lord, Greater Manchester's Night Time Economy Adviser, in partnership with the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, and Transport for Greater Manchester, want to know how people like you move around Greater Manchester at night – and what, if anything, prevents you from doing so.

If you're out and about between 6pm and 6am - whether that's for work or pleasure - and whether you travel by private car, taxi, public transport or even cycle, we want to hear from you!

Listen to Sacha explain why it’s really important that we hear your views and how your input could help shape the future of Greater Manchester's night time economy:

Since Sacha’s appointment as Greater Manchester’s Night Time Economy Adviser in June last year, he has been exploring some of the issues relating to how we can develop and promote Greater Manchester's diverse and inclusive night time offerings - both for those enjoying a night out at the theatre, a restaurant or a club - and for those working in hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing and other 24-hour industries.

Transport has frequently been highlighted as an important factor in supporting the night time economy, and therefore we want to find out how you travel around at night. We want to know why you use, or don't use, particular types of transport, so that we can understand how transport impacts people who want to make the most of the city-region's night time economy.
