GMP - Neighbourhood Policing

Closed 21 Mar 2022

Opened 1 Feb 2022

Overview

On 1 February 2022, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) launched a six-week Neighbourhood Policing Consultation that offers the people of Greater Manchester the opportunity to directly tell us what they want to see from our neighbourhood policing function.

This is part of the action GMP is taking to fulfill the public promises made by Chief Constable Stephen Watson when he launched our Plan on a Page (external pdf) last September.

Under our pledge to build public trust and confidence, we’re inviting members of the public to complete a brief questionnaire that will take around ten minutes to complete where they can provide their views on what they want to see from our neighbourhood policing function.

Why your views matter

Neighbourhood policing is a crucial part of the future of policing in Greater Manchester, and the results of this survey will influence how we police and work together in our community for years to come.

A policing consultation of this scale is something that hasn’t taken place in Greater Manchester for some time - this is a once in a generation opportunity to significantly influence the approach to neighbourhood policing for our communities.
