Modern Work Experience Employer Pledge Form
Overview
Thank you for your interest in supporting young people in Greater Manchester. By offering modern work experience, you’re helping them build confidence, explore different careers, and understand the routes that lead to high quality jobs in our growth sectors.
This work aligns with the Greater Manchester Baccalaureate (MBacc) – our ambitious plan to give young people a clear route into high quality jobs through technical education that employers truly value. Modern work experience is a central part of the MBacc, helping students make informed choices about their future.
The MBacc also increases both the number and quality of workplace experiences available across the MBacc gateways, ensuring every young person has meaningful encounters with employers.
Across Greater Manchester, our ambition is that every young person completes 10 days of meaningful workplace experiences during secondary school. These encounters help young people discover their interests and help employers build a strong, diverse talent pipeline for the future.
We are supporting schools, colleges and employers to create flexible, high quality work experience opportunities aligned to the equalex, framework - developed by The Careers and Enterprise Company.
Modern work experience is progressive, inclusive and changing. It can include anything from a two-hour workplace tour to a one-day project or a longer placement whatever works best for your organisation. Multiple encounters can give young people a powerful insight into the world of work.
Please complete the form below to pledge your support. A member of the GMCA Education, Work & Skills team will be in touch to match your opportunity with local schools and young people.
