Overview

Eligibility

The programme is for regeneration-focused practitioners with at 2 to 6 years in the sector. The discipline experience is deliberately broad to reflect what goes into good placemaking, and could include planning, urban design, development management, surveying, housing, infrastructure procurement, legal, digital, etc.   

Deadline

Apply by Friday 4th September 2026. All participants must be nominated by or have approval from their line manager, including a commitment to release them for all contact days 

Learning outcomes

On top of a career-long network of peers and sectors leaders plus behind-the-scenes visits, you should come away with a stronger understanding of and/or more personal skills in: 

  • The development pathway overall 
  • Setting up/sustaining teams and partnerships 
  • Viability and how to work with it 
  • Legal, title and land assembly 
  • Planning processes and considerations 
  • Public and Private drivers 
  • Design, including net zero 
  • Infrastructure considerations 
  • Communication and presentation 
  • Real-world team dynamics 

Expectations  

With your line manager/nominator's support, you'll be expected to attend all programme days (monthly learning/field trips) scheduled for the following dates:

  • Tuesday 6 October 2026
  • Wednesday 21 October 2026                        
  • Wednesday 18 November 2026
  • Wednesday 20 January 2027
  • Wednesday 24 February 2027
  • Wednesday 17 March 2027
  • Wednesday 28 April 2027
  • Wednesday 12 May 2027
  • Wednesday 9 June 2027  

Once on the programme, you'll also be expected to:

  • Take active part in a group project activity, peer-to peer learning 
  • Agree to complete a post-programme feedback survey  
  • Sign the below promising to keep all commercial / sensitive content in confidence.  

Your commitment is vital to success the programme. If you are unable to attend on these dates it is advisable not to apply for the programme for 2026/27 but you can express your interest in attending the 2027/28 programme by email.
